Dr. James Kigera

MBChB, MMed (Ortho)

Dr. Kigera is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in joint replacements, arthroscopy and trauma. He manages patients who have various ailments of bones and joints and guides them on the path to recovery. Using his extensive training and wide experience, he employs the latest techniques to mange patients ensuring they receive world class care.

 

After graduating as a doctor and further training to be an orthopaedic surgeon he furthered his training at the Sanchetti Institute in Pune India. He later undertook a fellowship in Hip and Knee arthroplasty in Charlotte, North Carolina USA under Dr. Thomas Fehring. He has also completed fellowships in the Rothman Institute in Philadelphia and the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York USA.

Dr. Kigera has received many various awards locally and internationally including the Kenya Orthopaedic Association (KOA), The College of Surgeons for East Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA), the International Society for Orthopedics and Trauma (SICOT) and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS). 

 

He is a lecturer and passionate about teaching. He has published numerous scientific papers and served as an editor of various prestigious scientific journals.
